2 January- Kel just returned from her weekly visit to the Perinatal Center for an ultrasound. These will now be primarily to check fluid levels since they are monitoring the baby's heartbeat 24 hours a day. We got some exciting news when they discovered Kel's fluid levels were up to 5.4cm. Most of you probably won't understand the numbers but know that today's reading was almost twice as much as Kel has been averaging. We don't want to mislead you, those numbers are still well below where a normal pregnancy would be, but a big step for us. We also learned something else today. These first few days in the hospital, with the added stress and constant monitor adjustments have begun to take their toll on Kel. This morning as Kel sat up in a wheelchair for an extended time she grew very tired and weak. Many factors have contributed to her lack of good rest but please pray that she begin to get more rest especially knowing that Caroline appears to be doing well.

Prayers for sleep are on the way! I know from experience how hard it is to get rest in the hospital, much less when you are worried about your baby. Just rest knowing God is holding you and baby Caroline in the palm of his hand. May you find peace and comfort there. Great news on the fluid level! Love you

The beds in labor and delivery are NOT comfortable! Pillows, pillows, pillows! I am so glad to hear about your fluid level!

Praise God for a wonderful update today! He is good and truly watching over little Caroline. We will continue to pray that God lay his healing hands on Kelly and give her the strength to fight through the weakness! What a struggle that must be...I had a hard time with sitting in that bed for 2 days!

Kelly, I know you weren't planning to be in the hospital yet, but I have to think that you've made it this far and that you and baby Caroline are being watched over and protected.
I think about and pray for you, Jeff, and Caroline every day. I hope you are settling in to your new routine and that the next weeks go well for you.
Let us know when you are up to visitors. It sounds like you need rest more than anything, but everyone at MRHE misses you!

When Jeff told me today the fluid level was 5.4 I was surprised but then realized I shouldn't be because nothing is impossible with God. He is mighty!!! WOW!!! I am praising Him for another day. By the way you looked really cute today in your blue stripped pj's. See you in the morning! XOXOXOXO

Jeff and Kelly- Just wanted to let you know that my husband, Jeremy, and I have been praying for you. We met at PizzaStreet when you were out with the sunday-school class. I'm a Labor and Delivery nurse at St. John's so I'm VERY excited to hear about a 5.4. Hopefully that will continue to increase (then maybe you won't have to be monitored and "adjusted" all the time). I actually just had a baby of my own, but will be back at work in February and hope to see you there. Caroline is already a miracle a million times over and we'll continue to pray for all of you.
